The philosophy of this proposed program is based on the necessity of teaching Arabic as a language of life to a varied group of learners with various academic, professional and cultural needs.
The program focuses on communication; it makes good use of all its educational activities in order to enhance communication which is actually reinforced by learning a language. The objective of learning a foreign language must pertain to acquiring the ability to communicate effectively using that target language and should focus upon strengthening individual progress. Moreover, learners’ enjoyment of the material and learning process must be guaranteed.
The program improves language skills via group discussions, lectures, presentations, role-play activities, and everyday conversations. It also utilizes the methods and techniques used in teaching a certain language to the speakers of other languages.
This program employs various methods of teaching which facilitate the learning process through integrating different teaching aids and curricula into the learning process of similar programs.
Therefore, this program aims at enhancing the four language skills, i.e. listening, speaking, reading and writing, in the framework of the Arab Islamic culture. It provides authentic audio-visual and textual materials for the students.
Moreover, students receive the required training to be able to read, listen to and comprehend primary resources so that they can talk about them with Arabs from different Arab countries.
