Abstract : The construction of the contemporary Islamic civilization formulae is an effort that strives to direct the Ummah to its correct path, and its effective civilization context. Such construction requires the utmost collective effort of the scholars and thinkers of the Ummah. In order to provide our vision and to illustrate the challenges that the Ummah faces in the 21st Century, we have chosen Islamic Economics as one of the ingredients of the aforementioned construction. Our aim in this study is to demonstrate the position of Islamic Economics in correcting the paths of mainstream economics and civilization. In carrying out such a task, emphasis is given to the knowledge dimension of Islamic Economics. The study is divided into three main sections in addition to a preface and a conclusion parts. The first part deals with the concepts and their importance in affecting the awareness and practice, the second section discusses the methodology and its implications; knowledge and science-wises, and third section explores the theoretical framework of Islamic Economics. The study is concluded by stating the main findings and recommendations of this exercise.
