Abstract : After more than three decades of research in Islamic Economics and the establishment of many research centers in universities and other educational or research institutions, a need has risen for an evaluation of the previous research efforts undertaken up to now in this field, in order to improvise on such efforts and rationalize the future research policies. This research aims at conducting a statistical analysis of the most significant characteristics of the research published in refereed avenues of research in Islamic Economics. A sample of such research is selected and analyzed statistically to identify the main research characteristics (content analysis) such as: type of topic, methodology, genuineness, referencing, conclusions value, etc.. Conclusions are drawn from the statistical analysis to be utilized by researchers, educators and research policy-makers for the benefit of research quality improvement in Islamic Economics in the future.
